It seems most of us (if we look deep enough) deal with fear of some type. I've suffered from the fear of not being enough most of my life. In some ways, the world would look at my life and say that my A-type personality and perfectionism gave me the desire for success. I have a list of accomplishments that probably looks much like yours, but I found as I grew older I became less willing to wait until the next corner for peace. A lack of fulfillment was my prompting to take a deeper look and reflect on my feelings. Through this reflection I understood how deeply ingrained fear had become. I was literally running from morning to night to make sure that I met what I thought were the expections of those around me. It turns out they were really my expectations. I'm in the midst of my 45th year and for at least 43 of those years I've never known or appreciated myself. I was focused entirely on the external.

A Course in Miracles has had such an impact on my thinking about myself as well as my brothers and sisters. I know that I am a perfect child of God just as you are and our perfection lies in our beingness. It has nothing to do with our intelligence, profession, lineage, spiritual path or religion--it has only to do the Divinity within us and it's in ALL of us--no exceptions. What an incredible relief! This thought is the foundation of peace in my life. As I've continued to study A Course in Miracles, the presence of peace has continued to grow and the love surrounding me is abundant.
